Local newspapers such as the Liverpool Echo and North Wales Daily Post have recently been getting interested in local blogs. In fact it's interesting to note how blogs can be so newsworthy and how they provide journalists with such easy copy.
Here in Liverpool a story about Liverpool city council's reaction to and subsiquent fight against the 'Liverpool-evil-cabal' blog which made comments about the council and its staff suggest how such blogs are fairly good news copy:
Big stir over gossip
'Evil Cabal' website does not break law, say police
'Evil cabal' website closes down after inquiry pledge
Was the council right to block Evil-Cabal website?
Campaigner calls for 'evil cabal' website inquiry
Whilst over in North Wales journalists have been keeping a close eye on the North Wales Police blogs and getting a few fairly stories from them.
Stories such as I'll show you how fit I am, says chief
Chief to rescue of thirsty scouts and
Max barks farewell to force on his Dog diary
No doubt the Police would readily admit that such blogs are mainly for a little positive PR, but the fact they're finding their way into the news suggests that they're working quite successfully.
