The BBC online is reporting this story "Bloggers of the world are being asked to show their support for freedom of expression by Amnesty International." The human rights group also wants web log writers to highlight the plight of fellow bloggers jailed for what they wrote in their online journals, The organisation said fundamental rights such as free speech faced graver threats than ever before.

Scott Adams

Scott Adams, the cartoonist who draws the geeky comic strip Dibert recently lost the ability to talk due to a condition known as spasmodic dysphonia however managed to get the ability to talk back by re teaching his brain how to talk

An interesting story yes, but made more interesting with the fact that earlier in 2004 Scott Adams suffered a similar condition to his ability to draw where he was unable to draw (something which he uses to make a living) and so had to re-teach his brain how to draw.

Wacky Racers

Posted by liam on October 20, 2006 1:00 PM

Here's a video on the North Wales Daily Post site, featuring two motocyclists speeding and dodging traffic along the A55 Road in Wales. Later when they went to a service station to refuel their motorbikes, the police helicopter which had been watching them from the sky, landed in the service station car park and both drivers got nicked.

I just wish they could have film the helicopter landing and arresting the drivers.

Here's the full article about the story.

Japanese competitive eater Kobayashi in a hotdog eating competition against a Giant Alaskan Kodiak bear. (This is the sort of thing the internet was designed to share)

NOTE: Here is an earlier blog entry about Kobayashi

Apple recently announced that a shipment of its new Video Ipods contained a hidden virus, which can damage computers

This started up a debate over on the Guardian Online website here where a story also broke out claiming

McDonalds Japan has launched a recall after discovering that MP3 players it offered as a prize were loaded with a particularly nasty strain of malware. Up to 10,000 people might have been exposed to the problem after claiming a Flash MP3 player pre-loaded with ten tunes and a variant of the QQpass spyware Trojan.
