Glorious return of Mr Geek

Posted by liam on January 11, 2007 5:00 PM |

Been away from the blog for a long time now, and neglecting my poor long suffering readers (both of them in fact). So much so that the All Powerful Tyrannical Overlord (or APTO for short, or just my wonderful friendly manager if he's reading this) said to me "the people need to know about the quirky and the geeky, update your blog or its going".

But Liam where have you been I hear you cry? Well unfortunately i got trapped in a magical geeky paradise called World of Warcraft which i would not recommend to any geek who values their free time, or indeed their sanity. So first things first, lets give you a bit of an update on the weird and wonderful stories that have been flying around the internet recently.

Lets start off with a bit of scandal, over in North Wales there has been the story that Beloved Children's TV characters Fireman Sam and Sali Mali have been seen in a naughty video together.

Also in North Wales was the story of A NORTH Wales tatoo artist last night appealed for a brave guinea pig – willing to have a full English breakfast tattooed on their head. Quite why the artist or guinea pic might want to do this is beyond me, but I think this quote might go some way to explaining the thinking behind it

Blane said: “The idea came down the pub after a few beers and I have been suggesting it for a few years.

Here in Liverpool we have pictures of the moment when two city centre revellers were rescued from the Williamson Square ferris wheel – after a prank which cost them more than £1,000. I really hope this story ends up as a video on Youtube, anyone finds it please let me know.

A nicer story this week was also the tale of real life Vicar of Dibley with the wedding of Canon Cynthia Dowdle, vicar of St Mary’s in Knowsley Village, and Ultan Russell, a Roman Catholic who works for the Church of England, just days before Dawn French's character Geraldine Granger got married in the finale of the TV program. Life imitating art at or what?
