Spooky Coincidence

Did you spot this on the news today?
The British military's Skynet 5 satellite has been launched into space from Kourou in French Guiana.
What's the problem?
Apparently Skynet is simply the name for a family of military satellites (family of satellites they sound so cute and cuddly)
Well did you ever see the Terminator movies?

In those movies a military supercomputer called Skynet, takes over the world and practically wipes out the human race.
The movie makers probably got the name from the Skynet satellites which were first launched back in the 70s. But still... pretty spooky, just tempting fate if you ask me.

This week the Games Developers Conference was (and is being) held in California.
Sony has unveiled a few developments that have caught the media's eye. Over on the BBC's technology blog (not as good as mine of cause) Darren Waters talks about LittleBigPlanet
The concept is simple - build your own levels/worlds with a very simple tool set and with extremely cute characters and then play in that world and share it with others online.
Sounds like fun, though its not available till later in the year.

Gal Sone (Petite Female Japanese Compeitive Eater) Manages to gain 7kg of weight in one sitting - in Japanese without subtitles but basically its just a tiny woman eating loads of grub, surprisingly entertaining
