How to download music Legally! - from 7Digital

Posted by liam on January 24, 2008 10:00 AM

For those wanting to buy singles in support of Liverpool's Number One Project, here is a handy guide I've prepared to help guide you through purchasing music online.

Downloading music from the internet can be really easy. In this guide I will talk you through downloading music from a site called 7Digital - it is an easy to use site which doesn't require you to install any programs such as itunes.

Word of warning - if you are using a work or school computer make sure you have permission to download songs before you do. Many companies have a clause about the misuse of computers, downloading songs without permission can get you in serious trouble.

Does anyone else find this story on the New Scientist blog very scary

According to Russian news agency Novosti, baby cockroaches conceived aboard a satellite in September have apparently grown up to be faster and tougher than their terrestrial brethren.

After all the science fiction showing space flights giving creatures super powers - why would these cosmonauts get permission to take cockroaches into space. Where is the health and safety people?

Most frightening is of course the idea of combining the DNA of Spiders with other creatures - any creatures whatsoever... scientists should just not be allowed to combine spider DNA with anything... ever

Is Richard Branson trying to be Mr Fantastic?

Aurora Borealis
For his next big plan for the private space industry, Richard Branson is thinking up new ways to excite affluent space tourists: flying them into the biggest lightshow on Earth, the Aurora Borealis.

What made me laugh most was the question of health and safety regards passing through the Northern lights.

Although launching humans into an active aurora holds little scientific interest (if it did, it would have probably been done by now), it does pose some prudent health and safety questions. As Dr Olle Norberg, Esrange's director, confidently states: "Is there a build-up of charge on the spacecraft? What is the radiation dose that you would receive? Those studies came out saying it is safe to do this." Phew, that's a relief.

Try telling that to the fantastic four who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space.
