OMG! Take a look at the Ghostbusters computer game they be making:

It looks fantastic, this video clip was only released today. How amazing would it be to have that game on the Wii and use your remote as a proton pack (the zapper thingy Ghostbusters use to zap ghosts - duh) Find out more about the game on the offical site here

Ok some of my long term fans of this blog (both of them, hi mum hi dad) may well be wondering "Liam why has it been so long since you gave us a bit of gossip or insight into the latest techie news, what's going on".

Like I previously stated I got a nice present recently, three months subscription to World of Warcraft. For anyone who has a life or just doesn't know, World of Warcraft is a computer game which you play over the internet. Its an entire world, full of villages and shops, but also a computer game so it's full of dragons and monsters. You get to play around with all this, when you log on you can become a little pretend person such as a knight or whatever your geeky heart desires. It's the perfect game for when the weather turns cold, and you want to stay in and waste away your hours talking to fellow geeks and trying to slay pretend monsters on your computer.

The Game On exhibition at the Science Museum in London brings together more than 120 different videogames, spanning the entire history of gaming – from the first videogame, SpaceWar in 1962, to the Xbox 360. Here is a video about the exhibition from BBC Online

Why computer games are good... somtimes at least

The BBC has had some rather interesting stories about computer games recently and how they are evolving beyong mere entertainment. Most recently they've ran a story about a nintendo game called Brain Training , this is a hugely popular game in Japan especially with older generations. The game challenges you to some basic maths, reading and other puzzles then tells you your IQ age, the more you play on the game the better your brain becomes. There is an early review of the Japanese version here .

Other recent stories include a feature about games which involve dance mats being used to combat obesity, games being used to treat medical eye conditions and how more complex games can help prepare young people for the complexities of life

All the stories are worth a read, and they will help you feel less guilty when you spend all night playing Tomb Raider
